Prairie Climate Stewardship Network

The Arlis Saxon Eco-Kids Project "The Arlis Saxon Eco-Kids Project, piloted in the 2007-2008 school year at Prairie Rose Elementary in Bismarck ND, is designed to both educate students about the world’s environmental concerns and provide opportunities for students to design projects that directly improve the environmental footprint of their school."

Hosted an evening presentation and discussion on "Human-Induced Climate Change: Paying Attention to the Science and Signs, and Engaging in Constructive Solutions and Actions." Led by Prairie Stewardship Network.

Concordia College, November 5, 2007. Global Warming Solutions: A public forum with polar explorer Will Steger. Featured impacts of climate change as witnessed by Will Steger and solutions with a public policy focus by Fresh Energy. Faith reflections by Bishop Larry Wohlrabe, NW Minnesota ELCA Synod. Event included a resource fair on solutions.

ND Conference of Churches Rural Life Convocation: "A Faith-Filled Response to Energy and Climate" August 19-20, 2007. Sponsored by the ND Conference of Churches and its Rural Life Committee. Faith presentations by staff from National Catholic Rural Life Committee and PSN.

2011

2011 Lenten Carbon Fast and Stewardship of Energy organized by PSN. This year, in addtion to the distribution of bulletin inserts to interested communities, 12 churches received a box of high quality caulk each and resource materialto share with communitie members to put into practice stewardship of energy. Boxes of caulk were provided by PSN with the support of Dale's Hardware, Kulm, ND, and Sashco, the manufacturer of Big Stretch.

Eyewitness to Climate Change: A Public Forum with Polar Explorer Will Steger, May 13, 2009; hosted by Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. In partnership with the Will Steger Foundation, Audubon Dakota, National Wildlife Federation, Pew Environment Group, and Sierra Club Dacotah Chapter. The Bismarck event was one out of three events held in ND (Fargo and Grand Forks) that was designed specifically for the faith community and hosted by a church.
